Traffic Visibility Triangle

  • Definition: A triangle formed by:
    • Measuring 33 feet along the curb lines of two intersecting streets from their point of intersection.
    • Connecting the two points with a base line.
    • If no curb exists, use the edges of the paved street roadway closest to the abutting property’s lot line.
  • Restriction: No fences are allowed within the traffic visibility triangle.

Industrial Zoning District (IND)

  • More than 20 feet from public street right-of-way:
    • Maximum height: 8 feet.

Barbed Wire Regulations

  • Allowed Uses:
    • Barbed wire is prohibited in the City unless the fence borders a legally operating farm for agricultural purposes. If the farm ceases operation, the barbed wire must be removed.
    • In "C-G" General Business, "IND" General Industry, or "IP" Industrial Park Districts, barbed wire is allowed on top of a chain link or solid fence if:
    • The fence is a permitted use in the zoning district and a conditional use permit for barbed wire is granted, or
    • A conditional use permit allows both the fence and barbed wire on top.
    • Barbed wire must not be less than 6 feet above ground level.
