The Building & Zoning Department helps ensure that all construction and property improvements in Richland Center are safe, code-compliant, and consistent with the City’s zoning rules. Most projects require a permit before starting work.

Zoning Permit Required. No person shall erect, alter, remodel, demolish, wreck or move any building, structure, sign or part thereof without first securing a zoning permit, therefore.
Permits are not required for interior finishing, installing cabinets and counter tops, normal maintenance to existing HVAC or plumbing and replacement of roof or siding or windows
