Permits

The City of Richland Center requires permits for certain activities that impact public spaces, infrastructure, or the general flow of traffic and pedestrian access.

Driveway Permit

A Driveway Permit is required to construct, alter, or replace any driveway that connects to a public street, crosses a sidewalk or curb, or changes access to public roadways.

Temporary Public Right-of-Way (ROW) Use Permit A Temporary Public Right-of-Way (ROW) Use Permit is required when placing dumpsters, construction materials, equipment, scaffolding, or other temporary obstructions within a City street, alley, sidewalk, terrace, or other public right-of-way. This permit helps ensure proper placement, public safety, and minimal disruption to traffic and pedestrian access. You need a permit if:

A dumpster, materials, or equipment will be placed in a public right-of-way

Parade Permit

A Parade Permit is required for any public procession that may disrupt traffic or use city streets, such as parades, marches, or organized walks. Must be submitted 30 days prior to event.

Sidewalk Permit

A Sidewalk Permit is required to construct, repair, or replace sidewalks in the City’s right-of-way.

Sign Permit

A Sign Permit is required for most permanent and temporary signs to ensure safety, visibility, and compliance with city regulations.

Street Closure Permit

A Street Closure Permit is necessary when closing any public street for construction, private events, block parties, or other special activities
