Raze / Demolish Permit
A Demolition (Raze) Permit is required to remove or tear down any structure in the City of Richland Center. This ensures safety, proper disposal, and compliance with state and local rules.
You need a demolition permit if you are:
- Tearing down a house, garage, or shed
- Removing part of a structure (major structural demolition)
- Demolishing a commercial or industrial building
- Clearing a property with existing structures
- Minor interior remodeling does not require a demolition permit
What You Need to Apply
- Address and parcel number
- Type of structure to be removed
- Method of demolition (mechanical, hand, etc.)
- Contractor information
- Utility disconnection letters (gas, electric, water/sewer)
- Site restoration or future use plan
Steps to Apply
- Contact utilities to disconnect services.
- Submit a Zoning Permit Request form online.
- Staff reviews the request and contacts applicant to obtain utility disconnect letters.
- Zoning Administrator reviews for compliance.
- Once approved, proceed with demolition as permitted.
