Abattoir License

An Abattoir License is required to operate a slaughterhouse or meat processing facility within City limits.

You need this license if you are:

  • Operating a slaughterhouse or abattoir
  • Processing animals for retail sale within City limits

What You Need to Apply

  • Business owner/operator details
  • Facility location and description
  • Proof of state/federal inspection certifications
  • Fee payment

Steps to Apply

  1. Submit the application below - include required documentation

  2. Pay the required $75 application fee

  3. City Council will review your application for approval at the next regular monthly meeting

  4. Clerk’s Office issues license if approved

    • Issued licenses are valid through June 30th

    • A processing fee will be applied by allpaid
  2. Deliver or Mail to 450 S Main Street, Richland Center, WI 53581
    • Office Hours are 8:00 AM 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday
