Clerk/Deputy Treasurer

Position Summary

The City of Richland Center is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented professional for the full-time position of Clerk/Deputy Treasurer. Under the supervision of the City Administrator, this role carries out essential statutory duties as defined by Wis. Stat. §62.09(11) and §62.09(9). This position serves as a central hub for municipal operations, ensuring legal compliance, transparency, and effective communication between the community and local government. This is a full-time, salaried, FLSA-exempt position.

Requirements

Qualified candidates must possess an Associate’s degree in Public Administration, Business, Finance, or a related field, though a Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Applicants must demonstrate a functional understanding of Wis. Stat. Ch. 62, municipal operations, election laws, and public records. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, and experience with CivicSystems/Caselle or GIS mapping tools is highly preferred. A valid Wisconsin Driver’s License is required. This role requires exceptional communication skills, the ability to maintain strict confidentiality, and the flexibility to work additional hours for evening meetings and election cycles. All offers of employment are contingent upon a successful background check and the ability to obtain a surety bond.
