Location: 450 S Main St, Richland Center, WI | Full-Time | Exempt
The City of Richland Center is seeking a proactive Zoning Administrator to oversee planning, zoning, and code enforcement. This key role ensures compliance with city ordinances, supports smart community development, and provides guidance to the Planning Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals.
What You’ll Do:
- Administer and enforce zoning regulations and the Comprehensive Plan.
- Review site plans, rezoning requests, conditional use applications, and permits.
- Conduct field inspections and investigate zoning complaints.
- Prepare reports, maps, and presentations for the Common Council and Planning Commission.
- Maintain accurate records and attend public hearings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Urban/Regional Planning, Public Administration, Architecture, Engineering, Criminal Justice, or related field.
- Experience in zoning administration, land surveying, construction, or code enforcement preferred.
- Valid Wisconsin driver’s license required.
- Knowledge of zoning ordinances, land use policies, and municipal regulations.
- Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, GIS, and property record tools.
Physical Requirements:
Work in office and field settings; may involve walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
Compensation: DOE/DOQ
