Public Works Facilities Custodian (PTE/LTE)
Position Available: City of Richland Center – Public Works Facilities Custodian (Buildings & Ground Crew)
Join the Public Works Team! The City of Richland Center is seeking a candidate for a part-time or seasonal Facilities Custodian position in the Public Works Department. This position supports the maintenance of City buildings, parks, and public facilities, with a primary focus on custodial services and preventative maintenance.
This role performs routine cleaning, facility upkeep, and minor maintenance tasks that help ensure safe, functional, and well-maintained public spaces. The position also supports park shelters, rental facilities, and general Public Works operations.
This position may be filled as either a seasonal (LTE) or part-time (PTE) role based on operational needs and available candidates. Seasonal employment is anticipated April–September (up to 26 weeks) with a flexible schedule. Part-time employment averages 16–20 hours per week. In all cases, hours will not exceed 1,040 annually.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Perform janitorial cleaning in municipal buildings and facilities

Maintain restrooms, floors, fixtures, and common areas

Replace furnace filters and complete basic preventative maintenance

Prepare park shelters and pavilions before and after events

Perform grounds cleanup including litter and trash removal

Complete minor building maintenance (light bulbs, batteries, etc.).

Participate in rotating weekend garbage collection (approx. once/month).

Assist with mowing or grounds maintenance as needed.
