Public Works Crew I

The City of Richland Center is seeking a candidate for the full-time position of Crew I in the Public Works Department. As a Public Works Crew I (Streets Division), you will perform a wide range of maintenance, repair, and construction tasks that keep the City’s streets, sidewalks, parking lots, and public spaces safe and functional. This hands-on role involves operating equipment, performing physical labor, assisting with snow and ice removal, and supporting seasonal operations such as brush and leaf collection. Candidates should be comfortable working outdoors in all weather, using a variety of tools and machinery, and contributing to a team focused on safety, efficiency, and quality service to the community.

Requirements: Qualified candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and possess experience in construction, general maintenance, equipment operation or repair, or related trades. Experience with asphalt/concrete work, landscaping, or the operation of tractors, loaders, mowers, and other heavy or motorized equipment is preferred. A valid Wisconsin Driver’s License is required, and the ability to obtain a Class B CDL (no air brake restriction) within 60 days is strongly preferred. Candidates must be able to perform strenuous physical labor in all weather conditions and be available for duty outside normal hours, including snow removal or emergency call-ins. Successful candidates will be subject to a background check.
