Vernon W. Thomson Historic Marker Unveiling
VERNON THOMSON HISTORIC MARKER UNVEILING TO TAKE PLACE NOVEMBER 5, 2025
The Richland Center Historic Preservation Committee invites the public to a ceremony unveiling the Wisconsin State Historical Marker honoring former Governor Vernon W. Thomson. The event will take place on Wednesday, November 5th at 4:30 p.m. in the Richland Center Community Center parking lot next to Krouskop Park, with a light reception to follow in the Community Center conference room.
Born in Richland Center on November 5, 1905, Vernon W. Thomson was a lifelong public servant—Mayor of Richland Center (1944–1950), Wisconsin’s 34th Governor (1957–1959), and U.S. Representative (1961–1975). He was laid to rest in the Richland Center Cemetery in 1988.
