Position Summary: Brewer Public Library seeks a full-time (40-hours per week) Adult Services Librarian responsible for managing and executing library services for adults 18 and over. This includes developing, promoting, and presenting programs, events, and classes for adults; providing outreach services to the community; management of the adult print and audiovisual collections - including purchasing, cataloging, processing, and collection maintenance. The ability to use and troubleshoot a variety of technology/devices/software and to provide one-on-one tech help for adults is a highly desirable skill, but not required. This is a community-facing role for someone who is enthusiastic about inspiring readers and life-long learners, and who is committed to elevating the library’s role as a vital community hub. The Adult Services Librarian serves as a member of the library leadership team alongside the Library Director and Youth Services Librarian. See the attached job description for additional details.
Requirements: A four-year degree or equivalent experience in a library or educational setting. The successful candidate is enthusiastic about serving the public, is well-organized, adaptable to changing priorities, comfortable with technology, and can work well both independently and as part of our friendly team. Must be able to work one evening per week and one Saturday per month. Employment is contingent upon a successful background check.
