Youth Services and Programming Librarian

Position Summary: Brewer Public Library seeks a dynamic and energetic candidate for the position of Youth Services and Programming Librarian. This is a full-time 40 hour per week position responsible for developing and implementing services, programs, and resources for youth ages 0-18 and their caregivers. Other duties include, but are not limited to: managing the children’s programming budget, marketing of programs and services, participating in the development and maintenance of the children’s and young adult collections, and providing customer service, readers’ advisory, and reference service at the circulation desks. This position will also intermittently partner with the Library Director to co-create programs and initiatives for all ages. This is a community-facing role for someone who thrives on variety and creative autonomy, and who is committed to elevating the library’s role as a vital community hub. Requirements: A four-year degree or equivalent experience in a library or educational setting. The successful candidate is enthusiastic about serving youth, well-organized, adaptable to changing priorities, comfortable with technology, and can work well both independently and as part of our friendly team. Must be able to work at least one evening per week and one Saturday morning per month. Employment is contingent upon a successful background check.
