Position Summary: Brewer Public Library is recruiting to fill a Limited Term Employment (LTE) position for a Library Assistant - Youth Services, part-time. This position will work 18 to 30 hours per week beginning May 2026 through July 31st, 2026 to support the youth summer reading program and general library operations. The hours of work will generally be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and/or Thursday, with start times and end times between 9am and 6pm; and one to two Saturdays per month 9am to 1pm. Schedule may vary from week to week, per the needs of the library and the availability of the successful candidate. This position will be working primarily in the children’s room, performing routine tasks and patron services for youth and their caregivers, facilitating summer programs, and providing support to the main circulation desk. 

Requirements: High school diploma and experience working with children required. Post-secondary education and/or experience in a library or educational setting desirable. Employment is contingent upon a successful background check.
